Biography
Alice completed her Postgraduate Advanced Diploma with Distinction in 2004 after two years on scholarship at Trinity College of Music, where she studied with Wendy Eathorne. In 2004, she also took part in the ENO performance skills course, The Knack, run by Mary King and followed this with a successful concert tour of Mexico, performing baroque arias and duets with countertenor and period orchestra. She has recently studied with Janice Chapman and John Evans.
Recent engagements include Giannetta in Opera South's L'Elisir d'Amore; Donna Anna in Hampstead Garden Opera's Don Giovanni; cover of Valencienne, The Merry Widow and cover Fiordiligi, Cosi fan tutte with Opera UK; Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro with Hampstead Garden Opera; Oscar, in Verdi's A Masked Ball with Duchy Opera; soloist for Mozart Requiem, C Minor Mass, Exsultate Jubilate, Vivaldi Magnificat, Poulenc Gloria, Rutter's Cantus and Bob Chilcott's Jubilate; Amy Fleurs, female lead in Geoffrey Hanson's modern opera, The Virgin Crown; Mlle Silberklang (Der Schauspieldirektor). She performs an impressive range of repertoire across the country with The Clerihew Trio and as a solo recitalist. Alice has taken masterclasses with Richard Jackson, Linda Hirst, Alberto Canelli, Hazel Wood and was a finalist in the Elisabeth Schumann Lieder Competition 2004.
Alice graduated from Bristol University in 2001 with first class honours in Physics with Astrophysics. With University of Bristol Opera she played Amy (Company, Sondheim) at the Edinburgh Fringe; Anne Truelove (The Rake's Progress, Stravinsky); Barbarina (The Marriage of Figaro). She also directed and produced Sartre`s Huis Clos for the University Arts Festival.
